Caddie's game plan
🔄
Hook management is your tee-shot priority. On every hole aim RIGHT of your intended landing spot and let the draw bring it back. If the hook starts showing up, grip down half an inch and make a 3/4 swing. Left rough at Torrey Pines is thick and punishing. Right rough is survivable. Holes 4, 8, 11, and 17 are where the hook hurts most.
🎯
Your wedges are your best scoring club. The entire course strategy is built around getting you a full wedge into par 5s and short par 4s. Your target layup distance is always 90–110 yds — a FULL swing. Never leave yourself a 40–60 yd half-pitch where your distance control suffers.
🏌️
Your putter saves the round. When you miss a green, get the chip within 6 feet and trust the flat stick. Simple bump-and-run chip, good read, good putt. That's your scrambling formula. Don't get creative near the greens — simple is best.

Use fairway woods confidently off tees on long par 4s. On holes 4, 8, and 11 especially, a 3-wood in the fairway is worth 30 yards over a hooked driver in the left rough. You've said your fairway woods have been good — use that confidence.
⛳
Par 5 formula: driver + FW to 100 yds + full wedge. You're a 3-shot player on all four par 5s. That's fine — your full wedge into a par 5 green is a legit birdie shot. Holes 2, 9, 14, and 16 are your best birdie opportunities all round.
